I rewrote this song a few years back when I was going through a difficult time. And it was during this time of suffering, I was needing to remembering to continue to behold, eat and drink of Christ. It was difficult at the time but I was, by faith, trusting that through continuing to behold, eat and drink of Him that He was increasing himself within and I was being transformed.

Christ tastes different when we are going through something. At first, He can taste bitter and unappealing. But as I was passing through this difficult time, I noticed, to my surprise, He began to taste sweeter and sweeter. My spiritual taste buds had changed. I was beginning to enjoy Christ no matter what I as walking through.

The kingdom is a person his name and is Jesus Christ. Christ increasing within us is what will bring about the fullness of the Kingdom of Heaven, the fullness of Christ on earth. One of our purposes in Life is to become the matchless image and expression of Christ.  But we’re currently in a state of transition. We are moving from the old life and way of things into our new life and way of living. In order for this to take place, our soul life needs to be transformed so it can function as it was intended to function. The Father’s way of doing this is by beholding, eating, and drinking of Christ through all of our circumstances.  It is by faith that we participate in our transformation, trusting the Father’s life and his way of doing things.

This song is a call, to CHRIST’s body, to remember our purpose, which is to be the image and expression of Christ. It’s through beholding, eating, drinking, and suffering that Christ is woven into us deeper and deeper so that we can display Him. We can forget especially during times of suffering.  You know they say you are what you eat, so If we are beholding, eating, and drinking Christ that’s who we’ll display.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit. 2 Corth. 3:18

For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, 2 Corth 4:17

I consider that our present sufferings are not comparable to the glory that will be revealed in us. Romans 8:18

Now revealed to His saints, to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ IN you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:27

The glory of the Lord is the person and His name is Jesus Christ! He is being produced in us! He is our Hope of GLORY so we have cause to be joyful and triumphant!

Oh Come Let Us Behold Him

Oh come all ye Faithful
Joyful and Triumphant
Oh, come see, oh come ye to Peerless worth
Come and behold Him
Transformed by this new life

Oh come let us behold Him, Oh come let us behold Him, Oh come let us behold Him, Christ our life

Turn to our Lord now
Eat Him in our suffering
Eat all ye begotten of heaven above
Glory to God, Divinity wove ‘n us

Oh we will eat of our Lord, Oh we will eat of our Lord, Oh we will eat of our Lord, Christ our Food

Yea Lord, we meet thee
Transformed by this new life
Jesus, to thee be all glory given
Word of the Father Now in Her appearing

Oh come let us display Him, Oh come let us display Him, Oh come let us display Him, Christ our Head

  1. Amen and Amen! Sister, this is by far my favorite re-write of all! Every bit of it is what the Lord would have for us as we going through difficulties. Thank you so much for sharing it with us all!
